- West London
- Residential Conversion
The brief was given to re-purpose an office unit in South West London to fit the needs of a young family.
With a cavernous double height space capped by a glazed roof, the open plan kitchen & living area takes the focal role, bespoke detailing and a finely picked material pallet defining the flow of spaces from the bedrooms, through the timber lined hall and stairwell up to the top floor and newly constructed terrace. The use of smoked oak contributes warm tones to the clean minimal aesthetic while a texture of ribbed walls disguises the less appealing features of the original building yet highlights the better.
The brief concentrated quite heavily on entertaining guests, leading us to form a series of pockets that would be flexible enough to accommodate large numbers both formally and informally.
We worked tightly with our client and construction team to establish a well-controlled budget and schedule, executing the design within a quick time frame while maintaining the highest standards of quality and finish.
Having refined our knowledge of kitchen design and cabinetry production, we were able to produce bespoke furniture of luxurious materials and long lasting design for the entire project at a fraction of the cost usually associated with named brands.
